Our Humanature Pathway Panel – Seeking Applications

Applications have been extended until Wednesday the 17th of August, 11:00AM Paris time.

UNESCO is seeking applicants from the MAB Youth Networks to be involved in the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration through a cross disciplinary panel providing analysis on core questions on humanity’s relationship with nature.

Brief:

UNESCO will be leading a panel on the UN Decade on Ecosystem Services in close collaboration with UNEP and FAO, with this panel acting as a ‘think tank’ addressing core questions on humanity’s role and relation with nature. It shall be composed of multidisciplinary leaders from community organizers, Indigenous Peoples, academics, activists, and more with members serving on the panel for 2 years.

Members are expected to be distinguished individuals with proven experience and expertise in their fields, being agents of change, have a large network and proved positive impact on society. They should demonstrate strong leadership driven by the highest standards of integrity and ethical behavior for people and planet.

Applications are open to any MAB Youth Network members, and MAB Youth Network membership is open to any young people under the age of 35 who live, work, or study in Biosphere Reserves or have involvement with the MAB Programme.

UNESCO has set aside a position for MAB Youth representative, meaning that any person working, studying, or living in a Biosphere Reserve can apply.

The successful applicants to this position will be appointed by the UNESCO Secretariat using the processes agreed upon for this panel.

How to apply:

Applicants are required to provide the following:

  • Curriculum Vitae up to 3 pages in length
  • Cover letter up to 1 page in length directly relating to the Terms of Reference

Lastly, any applicant successful in this position will be required by the MAB Youth Networks to become a Coordinator of the Network for the duration of their term. This will involve regularly reporting their work on the Panel to other Coordinators and General Membership, participating in meetings of the network, and abiding by any terms of reference of the position.
